Word Of The Week – Routine

The word that sums up our week this week is ROUTINE. We are getting back into our normal daily routine after the Christmas celebrations. This hopefully means that Ethan will soon settle down.

Routine

He is back at nursery and we all sighed a collective sigh of relief as he happily went into his class. Ethan is calmer when his weeks contain nursery, it does him the world of good. It helps to keep him busy and use up more energy. Which are positive things for him.

Ethan has also started to eat more again this week. Not going to nursery really upsets him and he was just picking at his food during the last few days at home. Ethan will control his food when he loses his daily routine.

I never knew how much our house depends on the routine of nursery. This was only really highlighted last year when Ethan was on his Easter holidays. He is in a nursery class that only have two weeks of holiday a year. Easter week was a complete nightmare but thankfully Christmas kept him busy and this holiday wasn’t as bad.

We have our first summer holiday break to experience this year. A full six weeks to fill. That could be fun!

Food is always a battle, he is living off of Muller Rice at the moment but as long as something is being eaten I’m happy. I think the other children help his eating at nursery and he misses that at home x

  1. I can imagine your feelings about the summer-but hopefully you can take away a few positives from the Christmas holidays in some way. I both love and loathe routine typically of me, but I see how important it is, especially for children. Glad he’s settling back in so well xx

Our plan for the holiday is just to keep him as busy as possible which mean we will need a holiday when he returns to school ;0)
