When we prepared Little E’s room for her we knew that we needed to get her a Baby Mobile. The cot mobile that we had for Ethan never really did the job as he ended up being too busy playing with all the buttons instead of going to sleep. This meant that we purchased her a very basic mobile so we were happy to put the Fisher Price Butterfly Dreams Projection Mobile to the test to see what Little E made of it.

Our Verdict
The Fisher Price Butterfly Dreams Projection Mobile has to be assembled. I found this pretty simple to do but you will require a screwdriver for this job. The mobile also needs 4 AA batteries for the main mobile unit and 2 AAA batteries for the remote control, which aren’t supplied in the box.
I was able to assemble the mobile in less than ten minutes. It is also very easy to fit to the side of the cot and feels very secure. The age guide for the mobile is 0-5 months, Little E is 8 months old at the moment, but because she is not starting to pull herself up yet I’m happy for the mobile to be attached to her cot. As soon as she starts to pull herself up we will change the projection to the tabletop version. This will be very easy to convert as it just slides onto the mobile arm.
We love the colours used on the mobile bears, light blue, green and purple. We feel this mobile could easily fit in both little boys and little girls bedrooms.
The musical projection soother is located at the top of the mobile.
It has five buttons, the on/off switch that also doubles as a volume control with two different volume settings. The light switch and three sound options, music, nature or soothing ‘white noise’.
The music option plays a selection of different tunes therefore you don’t always hear the same one over and over again.
You also have the option of turning off the light to stop the projection which is perfect if using the mobile in the day.
There is also a remote control supplied with this mobile, which means you don’t have to disturb your little one if you want to reset the music.
Initially I thought the light show projection made the room a little bright but it has been the perfect light to settle Little E down to bed and change her by if required. It projects stars quite clearly on the bedroom walls and on the ceiling. There are also three alternating bulbs that change the pattern of the projection in the room.
Little E’s Verdict
Little E is very happy with this mobile, we use it for both her daytime and bedtime naps. The mobile hasn’t disturbed her sleep at all and it has also kept bedtime very clam whilst she watches the light show projection.
What We Love
We love that this mobile grows with your baby. As soon as the mobile can no longer be used on the cot the musical projection soother can me detached and used on a tabletop. The mobile can also be attached to your stroller canopy if desired. This means that you could be using this mobile for a number of years.
That mobile is so cute and she looks like she loves it! x
