Project 365 2015 Week 15 Days 95-101

A photo a day, every day, for a year!

Day 95

Easter Sunday and it took lots of persuasion but I was able to get a photo of Ethan in the bunny ears!

Day 96

It didn’t take Ethan long to get stuck into his Kinder Surprise Easter Bunny.

Day 97

We took Ethan to the Beth Chatto Gardens so that Ethan could do the Easter Egg Hunt.

Day 98

We let Ethan open his Minion Easter Egg so that he could play with the gift that came with it.

Day 99

Since Darren started his new job with shift work I wanted to make Ethan a visual calendar to help him understand our plans for the day. I also feel that it is time for him to start learning what day of the week it is and I wanted this ready for when he started school. Unfortunately time has flown by and I hadn’t made one. I turned to eBay and thankfully found what I was looking for.

Day 100

We visited nanny and had some bubble fun in the garden.

Day 101

Ethan hasn’t had any swimming lessons since before Christmas as he was getting too big for the mother and baby classes. We have come too far for him to lose this skill and we said that we would take him swimming each week but something always gets in the way of going. We found a swimming club suitable for Ethan’s ability, we took him for a trial today.

It was the first time Ethan has been in the water without us and at many points he looked like he was going to burst into tears. Thankfully he made it to the end of the lesson and we will be going again next week. This was the photo we took whilst we waited for him at the pool side.

  1. Looks like Ethan had a lovely week for his last week before school. Glad you found a swimming class that works for him. Hope his calendar helps him get to grips with his new routine and good luck to him for school!

It was a lovely week. I’m so glad we have him swimming again, it is a bit of a learning curve for all of us. I’m having to learn to let go!

  2. Great Minion Easter gift with his egg! My two would love that too. The visual timetables are great. We use them at work. He’ll soon be using them at school too. Good luck to him on his first day xx

Nanny found the Minion Easter egg. Yes the visual timetable was needed, he enjoys using it everyday and I’m finally starting to work out what day it is ;0) x

  3. My sis in law has taught a lot of reception and nursery classes at school and she said to me that the most useful thing is if a parent can teach their child a sense of time. It’s so difficult to do and it takes a long time, so I think your chart is great. Love the bunny ears pic – worth trying for.

I think he was ready to learn about the days, I think he is starting to sight read. Also with Darren’s shifts being all over the place he really did need a visual, so did I ;0) x

  4. Lovely photos from the week, so glad Ethan seemed to enjoy his swimming lessons and in a few weeks they will be part of his routine and he’ll enjoy them. Lovely poolside selfie.

  5. Well done Ethan on the solo swimming, I’d be close to tears too if it was me! 😉 Nothing beats a good Easter egg hunt does it?! The schedule planner looks good – I like the day card showing its place in the week.

  6. Aw, well done to Ethan for swimming on his own for the first time. N started on his own in February and surprised me too at going in straight away and doing everything asked of him. Always great when they manage better than we expect.

I love his bunny ears photo.

Thank you. Ethan does need lots of support but it’s a big step forward not having the support from us x

Thank you, it really is. It took him so long to learn how to kick his legs I don’t want him to forget how to do it x
