Spending Time With Our Australian Family – Disneyland Paris Day 1 Continued – Disney Magic on Parade!

After having a break at the hotel and warming the kids up, we headed back over to the Disneyland Park to watch the parades and have some dinner.

We caught the bus and made it into the park just before the parade was about to start, so we quickly secured our viewing spot. Thankfully the rain had now stopped and the sky had cleared during the afternoon.

I was very impressed with the parade, before I have thought that had been quite poor compared to the parades that take place in Walt Disney World, but I think money has been invested in the floats and the costumes. The children loved seeing all the characters and they even got some waves in our direction.

With the parade at an end we made our way to the Plaza Gardens Restaurant where we had already booked a table.

I was very concerned about Ethan’s lack of eating but all he showed interest in was the chips, and being that it was a buffet restaurant we did offer him quite a few options. We didn’t force the issue as we were happy that he was eating something but it was his second helping of chips for the day! We also decided to put him back in a high chair, which we didn’t do at breakfast or lunch, and that helped him to focus on the food.

When I went to get myself some dessert I noticed that they had crepes on offer, I put some on my plate for Ethan. He tucked right in, which was surprising as he doesn’t on pancake day! We got him some more, happy that we had increased to two different types of food now.

I thought the restaurant was quite nice, a good selection of food, and warmer than the food at the hotel the night before.

When we had all had our fill we left and made our way to the Buzz Lightyear ride as we promised the children they could go on it again.

We made it off the ride just in time to catch Disney Dreams! of Christmas. I love that they now have a night time show in the park, something I always felt was missing at Disneyland Paris.

The show was great, using image projection on the castle and on water, and not forgetting the use of fireworks. We wasn’t in the best position to see the show in it’s full glory but we were in the perfect position for the kids as we weren’t crowded.

Another highlight for me was that I have finally seen a Disney castle dressed in Christmas lights.

We had a great first day and I was very impressed that we had been able to catch two parades in one day.

  1. What a wonderful trip for you all and extra special with the Christmas parade. It’s great to hear that Ethan is having such a great time and trying out new foods, thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
