Baby Prints – Capturing Memories At Blue Owl

When Ethan was 16 weeks old we took him to Devon and stumbled across a ceramics shop. We were able to have his baby prints captured in clay. I knew it was something I wanted to do with Little E when she was born but I didn’t know of anywhere near us that did it.

By searching the Internet I found Blue Owl and realised it wasn’t too far from us. So I booked us in explaining our situation and what I wanted to do.

I said I wanted to do both hand prints for the children, but they explained that with Little E being so young she may not open her hands for us. I explained that Ethan has sensory issues and might also have some issues with having his hands painted.

Knowing these two factors we booked ourselves in and hoped for the best. Ethan being Ethan he was unwell on the day we had arranged, but Blue Owl were very flexible and pushed our appointment back a few days.

So off we set, keeping our fingers crossed.

When we arrived Little E was asleep, so whilst Ethan kept Darren busy we tried to take Little E’s hand print.

We were able to take it twice, she wasn’t very happy about it! We then moved on to her feet.
She promptly fell asleep after creating her artwork.

Next it was Ethan’s turn. I wanted to have both of their hand prints put on a plate. I wasn’t sure if Ethan would want his hand painted but when we got his attention he happily took part.
Our items were then ready to be fired.
We collected our finished items a few weeks later.
I’m so glad we discovered Blue Owl. I love our items and they were so happy to help us in our quest. They were also very reasonably priced. I really hope we can go again and create some more masterpieces.
