Naming Items – Small Steps Amazing Achievements

Little E’s arrival has pushed Ethan which is what we hoped for. He has been great with her so far but this week I think the honeymoon period may be over. More on that in another post I feel!

Bringing out all of the baby toys has also showed us that Ethan knows some words we didn’t know.

With the floor mat he has shown us that he can say ‘cow’ and even moo when I ask him what noise they make. He also says ‘duck’ and has his own word for ‘dog’ and ‘flower’.

Little E has been sent a new toy to review, something Ethan was very excited about, he also points out the flowers on this.

It has been great seeing Ethan interacting with his sister pointing out the items, I wonder what else he will want to teach her as time goes on.

  1. I hope he will continue to teach little E and enjoy doing so, don’t worry about the honeymoon period ending, that is inevitable but it will all settle into a new loving family routine soon enough.

  2. It really is amazing how new family dynamics bring on new developmental phases for our children isn’t it. Glad the language is going well, but I look forward to reading about those sibling teething troubles 😉

  3. Aww that’s lovely, so good to hear he knows more than even you realise, and he clearly wants to be a good big brother and teach his sister what he knows. So cute! Xx #ssamazingachievements

  4. It is lovely when the start seeing their little baby sibling as a person to interact with. I hope he continues to show a positive interest – there is nothing more heart warming than when they’re together, giggling with each other. It makes the sleepless nights and exhausting days worth it!xx
