All About Me

The lovely Orli from Just Breathe has invited me to take part in the All About Me MEME. Gina from Cold Tea and Smelly Nappies started a linky after receiving an All About Me booklet to fill in from her daughters school. She thought it would be a nice way to get to know the person behind the blog a little more.

As Orli rightly says, we all know so much about each other from what we share on our blogs but we don’t really know the little things that make us who we are.

1) First off tell us your name and what you do (nice easy one there)…
I’m Jane and since April of this year I would say I’m technically classed as a full time carer. I’m also a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and now a blogger.

2) I live at home with…
My husband, Darren, and our Son, Ethan.

3) My favourite thing to do is…
Plan a trip to Disney World, but I doubt there will be one of those for a very long time. Of course I love to spend time with my family and I love to indulge Ethan in anything he loves doing.

4) My favourite thing to eat is…
Popeye Pasta. It’s a recipe from the Annabel Karmel weaning book I had when we weaned Ethan and it’s one that has stuck around. It contains spinach, good for iron, and lots of cheese. I love cheese!

5) When I get cross I…
I’m not sure I would use the world cross, I would say I get more frustrated. I get frustrated quite a lot, sometimes with myself, sometimes with Darren, and dare I say it sometimes with Ethan. I also get frustrated with people outside of our immediate family circle, this can happen quite a lot. What do I do, I moan about my frustrations, mostly to Darren and my mum. It’s always good to have a moan.

6) Sometimes I worry because…
Sometimes! I always worry, my mum called me a worrier before Ethan arrived. Having a child with special needs what isn’t there to worry about?! Perhaps the question should be Sometimes I don’t worry because…
7) My favourite book is…
I used to read all the time, with a daily commute into London, I had the perfect time to stick my nose in a book. Then the attacks on the tubes happened and I couldn’t concentrate on books anymore during that time and I had to immerse myself in my iPod. It took a while but I started to read the daily papers on my journey again and I then picked up the Twilight books. Before the films come out I may add, I kept telling my niece to read the books that my American friends had recommend, and she wasn’t interested. Surprise, surprise the film came out and she them read all of them in days. The youth of today they never listen! Ethan arriving also took away my love of books, I just couldn’t concentrate. Lets just say the first book’s I picked up since having Ethan, not autism related, was The Hunger Game’s. I asked Darren to get me the set for Christmas, I hadn’t seen the film at that point, but one of the guys talked me into giving the books a try. Lets just say I read all of the books in two days, couldn’t put them down. So I would say they are my favourite books at the moment as I want to read them again, just need to find the time.
8) My favourite toy is (easy now)…
I used to love gadgets, anything new I would normally have it quite soon after release, this all changed when Darren entered my world. I had to start learning to save. Obviously now gadgets are a luxury that we just can’t afford to rush out and buy, but we did have to buy a new toy for me this year as my iMac died. My favourite toy is my MacBook.

9) I dislike…
Being told what to do, I have a little bit of a stubborn streak and I hate people telling me what to do. I will probably do the opposite if I feel this has happened, or moan about you to my mum as you would have made me cross.

10) When I grow up I want to be…
Fitter, I don’t feel very fit at the moment and I know I need to be fitter to keep up with Ethan. I also want to live forever so I can make sure my little boy is safe forever. The thought of him one day having to live without our protection absolutely breaks my heart.

I now have to tag some other blogger friends so I can find out all about them, I hope you decide to join in.
