A BRAUN thermometer has had a very important role in our house ever since Ethan had his bout of tonsillitis. We purchased one knowing that we could trust it’s readings and it was very simple to use with a toddler. It is easily used in our house at least once a month, so when we were asked if we would like to test the latest thermometer, a BRAUN ThermoScan 7, how could we say no?

It was as if the thermometer knew it was needed. It arrived on the day that Little E had her immunisations and was put to the test right away.
The colour coded display turned yellow to indicate that Little E had an elevated temperature.
So How Does It Work?
When the thermometer is switched on you select which age you require using the Age Precision button. There are three age ranges to choose from 0-3 months, 3-36 months and 36 months to adult.
With the age range selected a temperature can be taken by placing the probe into the ear canal and pressing the start button.
When the reading is complete a long beep will sound, the screen will show the temperature measurement.
The screen will also change colour depending on this measurement
- Green – Normal temperature
- Yellow – Elevated temperature
- Red – High temperature
The picture above show that Little E had a normal temperature when the measurement was taken.
We love this thermometer. The colour coding is something I always felt would be a benefit for the BRAUN range as we always found ourselves looking up the temperature ranges with our old thermometer. It is quick and simple and means no mistakes can be made when worried or through tiredness if you are up all night with your child.
The age precision feature if fantastic. This thermometer has also been tested on Ethan and although I thought Ethan was feeling hot the display was green. I also checked with our old thermometer and it gave the same temperature measurement.
The protective case also has a window so that you can see how many disposable lens filters you have left. This wasn’t something we had on our old thermometer and I think it is a nice addition.
I also like that this thermometer has an eject button for the lens filters, just be careful when you press it as those lens filters can travel quite far!
I would highly recommend this thermometer. The colour coding alone would have made me want to upgrade our current thermometer. A must have for every family.
The BRAUN ThermoScan 7 thermometers are available from Boots and have a RRP of £49.99.
