Remember, Remember The 5th of November!

When we lived in our flat we never used to have to worry about going to a local fireworks display. Being that we lived on the sixth floor we had the perfect view of local fireworks from our front room.

Our first Guy Fawkes night in our new home was actually celebrated in Walt Disney World, we attended a dessert party in the Magic Kingdom. Last year we went to a local school display on the Saturday before, but on the 5th of November we discovered that we could see one of the local firework displays a few minutes away from our house.

This year we were prepared to watch our local fireworks on the 5th of November. I say prepared Darren even took garden chairs so he could sit and watch the firework show!

The fireworks didn’t disappoint and Ethan was able to enjoy them without being put in a very crowded, noisy environment.

Whilst the fireworks were going off Ethan kept looking behind us. It took me a while to realise that not only was he watching the fireworks, but by turning around he could watch the shadows they were creating behind us. He really does like to view our world in a different way!

  1. I love that photo, he looks so happy. I also love his idea of looking at the fireworks’ shadows too, that’s brilliant. We do something similar to you-the local display isn’t too far from our house and we can watch it from my daughter’s bedroom window!

  2. I’m glad that Ethan enjoyed the fireworks, we’re hoping to take Archie next year when he’s a little older & more settled. Archie loves shadows too & will stand in front of the wall waving his arms about & spinning to watch his shadow

It took Ethan a while to notice his own shadow, he does like to watch the shapes he makes when he finds it x

  3. That’s great, what a fantastic view from your garden, we are lucky we have quite a good view of a display from our house too, though not as good as yours! Fab way to introduce little ones ti fireworks without the scary side! Love that shit of Ethan, he looks so happy! Xx #countrykids

  4. What a perfect way for you all to watch the fireworks together and you have captured them brilliantly. I struggle every year with a mismatch of just missed photos! thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

  6. How lovely that you managed to enjoy the fireworks and that your fears and concerns weren’t realised. But how funny that Ethan was aware of the shadows being formed – wouldn’t even cross my mind!
