Time To Start Thinking About Home Decoration

We moved into our home just over four years ago, because it was a new build the only rooms we have decorated in that time have been the children’s bedrooms. We have been happy with the magnolia walls in our living areas but the years of a very active toddler has taken its toll on our home. Its time we think about giving our home some tender loving care.

The main problem we have is that our home is drowning in toys and children’s clothes so as well as decoration we really need to look into better storage ideas. Not only do we need to look into storage ideas in our main living areas, but we also need to rework the children’s bedrooms so that they are more organised.

When it comes to our main living area we don’t have the biggest front room. Ideally I would like to buy completely new furniture for this room. All of the furniture in this room was purchased for our open plan apartment, it just doesn’t work as well in the space it has now. I would love to include a feature wall and we would also need to find the perfect way to display our Disney collectables. Making sure we keep them safe from little hands that are keen to explore.

Ideally I would love to feature family photos on the walls of our hallway. My dream is to have a selection of different photo frames leading up the stairs that contain all of our captured memories.

I have also been looking into boy’s bedroom ideas as Ethan’s clothes are starting to outgrow his toddler wardrobe. Space is an issue in his bedroom and it would need to fit around the current toy storage that he already has. I would love to consider a cabin style bed for him but we are unsure if that would be a safe option for his needs.

When Little E grows out of her cot we would also need to address her bedroom again. She has the smallest room of the house and at the moment she only has a chest of drawers for storage. We are hoping that she would be able to have a cabin bed and a wardrobe of her own. I love the pinks we have already used in Little E’s bedroom but I would love to add some girly accessories to her room too.

Our home decoration will take some time and I think it will be an on-going project for many years. I’m looking forward to seeing how our home will evolve.
