Taking My Little Princess to the Disney Cruise Royal Court Royal Tea

Taking My Little Princess to the Disney Cruise Royal Court Royal Tea

When I knew that we would be taking our little lady on a Disney holiday I started to look into things that I could do with her. I wanted to share a mother and daughter moment with her as we rarely get to do things on our own. I knew that the Grand Floridian hotel hosts a Princess Tea but I wasn’t sure if I could work it into our plans. With adding a Disney Cruise into our plans I found out that they host a Royal Court Royal Tea but it was only on the seven-night cruises. At the end of 2016, this changed. They added the Royal Court Royal Tea to the Disney Dream four-night sailings. I was delighted to discover that this was something I could now book for us.

Our Disney Cruise Royal Court Royal Tea Experience

The Royal Court Royal Tea takes place on the afternoon of the sea day on the Disney Dream four-night cruise. When you arrive in your cabin you will find the invitation inviting you to the princess tea. The Princess tea is an extra cost event and there are limited spaces available. You have to be quick to secure a place at this event as ours booked up the day the booking window opened. Darren’s sister also wanted to join me with her daughter but it was fully booked. I checked the activities everyday and we were very lucky that two spaces opened up for them to join us.

Before our afternoon tea, I had booked Little E into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a princess makeover. I wanted her to look the part for the princess tea. It wasn’t long before it was time to join the tea party. Lady Chamomile and Chef Brule host the Royal Tea. Lady Chamomile welcomes each guest to the event and presents each child with their first gift, a crown.

When you arrive at your table there are even more gifts for the children. You will find a Cinderella doll, a necklace, a charm bracelet, a musical Disney Cruise princess jewelry box and a princess autograph book with a princess pen.

The tea is an immersive Disney show, Lady Chamomile and Chef Brule sing and entertain you whilst introducing each princess.

Meeting The Princesses

At this princess tea you will get the chance to meet Cinderella, Princess Belle, and Princess Tiana. Each princess visited our table twice. The first visit was to say a quick hello and give each child a charm for their bracelet. The second was to sign their autograph books and spend quality time with the children at each table. The second visit is when you get the chance to take photographs of the children with the princesses.

The interaction wasn’t rushed at all and each Princess was happy to help Little E with her crown. She also liked to help them find their page in her new autograph book.

The Food

There was lots of food not to mention cake on offer. Little E was too busy for any of the food. She was too interested in her new gifts to be worried about cake! Towards the end of the tea, the girls also receive a very special princess cake. On the first full day of our cruise, we were asked which Princess was Little E’s favourite and if she had any allergies. It was at this point that I informed them that Little E has never eaten nuts so they created her a nut-free cake. This did mean that her cake was different from her cousins but she didn’t notice.

Our Thoughts on the Disney Cruise Royal Court Royal Tea

This extra is quite an expensive treat for your little girl or son as boys can also join the tea party. They are given different gifts which include Duffy the Disney Bear. The age limit is 3 to 12, I did notice the Walt Disney World Princess tea has an upper age limit of 9.

Little E was really too young to really enjoy the food part of the tea but she had a fantastic interaction experience. To be honest that is what you are paying for the very personal interaction with the princesses. I also didn’t realise how much of a show was put on during the tea. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours together.

Would I pay for the experience again? If we ever got the chance to experience this princess tea again I would happily pay to share this moment with our daughter again. Little E of course would have to want to go again. She has already told me she wants a pirate makeover and not a princess one if ever we go again. We might have to look for different experiences for her!

  1. Wow this looks incredible! I love everything Disney and last year we did the Princess Lunch at DLP – my three year old daughter loved every second! Like yours, she didn’t eat any of the food but i didn’t expect her too as she was just so overwhelmed meeting the princesses – a truly unforgettable experience. So glad you had fun!

  2. I’ve never been jealous of a little girl before… NOW!!! That’s changed! She looks like she had an amazing time meeting all the princesses. What a wonderful experience for her to have 🙂
