Word Of The Week – Toys

This week my word of the week has to be toys as I visited the Toy Fair in London on Tuesday.

Toys

I had never been to the toy fair before. A few months ago I registered for the press day. I never thought that I would be accepted as media but I was! As we had been asked to review so many toys lately I thought I might get the chance to meet the people we have worked with in person.

At the Toy Fair to visit the big names in the industry you have to make appointments. Thankfully another blogger I know was arranging meetings for a group of us.

I was also able to arrange an appointment with Sylvanian Families. I was very excited about this as this was my favourite toy as a child. On the day I was able to arrange an appointment with Vtech and LeapFrog. Toys that had been in our lives for a very long time. They are also my go-to brand when I think of learning toys.

A meeting I was also very excited about was with Playmobil. They had seen my review of their Santa’s Workshop Advent Calendar and asked if I would like to meet with them.

It was a very busy day and I was on the go from 10 am until 6 pm. It took me over four hours to commute there and back. I collected lots of information. Which was very heavy by the end of the day. Well by the middle of the day! I’m all toyed out now and I’m still processing the information. I did film some of the toys I saw which you will be able to see in my weekly vlog on Sunday.

Darren, who hates train journeys, asked me if the commute and long day was worth it. I told him I will let him know in six months time.

  1. I bet that was so fab, I dont review toys having older children but I bet when you have smaller children its so exciting seeing what’s new and coming out for the year ahead. I hope the trip was worthwhile although I bet it will have been x
