The main character Maisie Daisy is a sweet-matured little girl, she brings warmth and happiness wherever she goes. Maisie Daisy encourages outdoor activities with her friends.

In Strawberry Fayre visit Berry Lane with Maisie Daisy and her friends to pick some delicious strawberries. The friends decide to make strawberry jam to sell at the local village fayre the next day.

Speaking about her debut children’s book, Elizabeth Willdon Bas, says

“My inspiration for this book stems from childhood memories of daisies in my parent’s garden. Creating stories to entertain my grandchildren sparked off an interest in story writing for children. Having worked with children in a local primary school, I was further inspired by their bright, inquisitive minds! Daisies have a connection with purity, therefore this links beautifully with the title character of my book, who shows empathy in the kindness of her ways.”

What Do We Love About Maisie Daisy: Strawberry Fayre?

We love the names of Maisie Daisy’s friends. In this book, you will meet Penny Petal, Lucy Lavender, Cousin Buttercup and Billy Bluebell. This book contains beautiful illustrations by Sarah-Leigh Wills and she really does bring the story to life.

Little E loves reading this book with me and I’m sure it will soon be one of her firm favourites.
