The adults used the digging tools whilst the children used the brushes and magnifying glasses to search for the hidden items in the clay.

Discovering the first two gemstones in the plaster was very easy. The last one hid very well. Soon we were the proud owners of three beautiful gemstones.

Our Thoughts On This National Geographic Dig Kit

This National Geographic dig kit took us about thirty minutes to complete. That was with adult help so a child doing a dig on their own might take a little longer to complete. Everyone enjoyed this dig kit and the three gemstones are now proudly on display.

This kit also comes with a full-color gemstone learning guide. This gives you the chance to learn some amazing facts about gemstones of the world and their history. Also about the gemstones included in this kit.

Digging out the gemstones does get a little messy but this is clearly explained in the digging instructions. We placed paper down on our table to help protect it’s surface before we started digging.

DISCLOSURE – We received the National Geographic Gemstone Dig Kit as a gift. This was for the purposes of this post. We always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, and experiences of the products we receive.
