Meeting Princess Poppy at the Trolls Festival

We were invited to visit Shrek’s Adventure in London. This summer they are hosting a Trolls Festival which gives you the chance to meet Princess Poppy. The Trolls Festival takes place in its own room that you can visit after taking part in Shrek’s Adventure. The room is decorated just like the Troll village with lots of special details and very bright colours. In the Trolls Festival you can sing, dance and play games to all of the music from the film. There is a party host who helps to get the party started. She had the adults guessing the missing words to music tracks and the children singing along…

Meeting Iggle Piggle At In The Night Garden Live

Ethan loved watching In The Night Garden when he was a toddler. It was part of his evening routine and even now he will happily watch it on you tube. When the In The Night Garden Live tickets were released for sale this year we thought it would be nice for Ethan to see it one last time. Being eight I knew he would be one of the oldest children there. I also know that Ethan could still possibly enjoy this show for many more years to come. When you book the tickets you are given the option to book a character meet and greet for an extra £15. Having…

    Visiting Santa at Colchester Castle

One place that is on our must visit list is Colchester Castle. We have walked past it many times but have never found the time to visit. When I spotted that this year there was going to be a grotto there I had to book a visit with Santa at Colchester Castle. To book your visit you have to call Colchester Castle directly. It costs £5 per child to visit Santa’s Grotto and your child will receive a gift. What I really liked, and is something that we need, is that you are booked in for a time to see Santa. For us this reduces any queuing time and takes…

A Magical Christmas at Enchanted Audley End

Being an autism household we have had to learn to use visuals for preparation. Christmas is no different and we spend lots of time spotting Christmas lights. Ethan loves them and it is a very exciting game. This year English Heritage have created enchanting garden trails with lights, music and sound to transport you into a magical wonderland. We were invited to Audley End House and Gardens to experience Enchanted Audley End. We knew the children would love the lights and we couldn’t wait to visit. Enchanted Audley End The gardens at Audley End House in Saffron Walden, Essex, have been lit up for the Enchanted Audley End event. The decadent…
