Small Steps Amazing Achievements – 31st July 2013

WOW can you believe it’s Wednesday already! ‘Happy Hump Day’, welcome to this week’s Small Steps Amazing Achievements.    Lots of lovely posts linked up again last week, quite a few that I can connect to personally, and others that will help us with our future journey. I also love reading all of the different developmental stages the children are going through as sometimes I feel like we missed some but I love that I can share your moments with you.    Thank you to everyone who takes part in this linky. I’m really enjoying hosting it and I hope you enjoy taking part.        If this is your first time…

Calling Doggy – Small Steps Amazing Achievements

When the word autism entered our world and I started searching the Internet looking for information I stumbled across something called a CHAT Test. This is a checklist for autism in toddlers which should take place at an 18 month developmental check-up. It aims to identify children who are at risk for social-communication disorders. I remember the CHAT test asking if your child ever put an object up to their ear to pretend to make a phone…

    Our Fifth Wedding Anniversary

Darren,  Can you believe that five years ago today we were married. You put your full trust in my dream and I was a Disney Bride, a true princess for a day. A day that I had dreamed of since I was sixteen years old. You even agreed to having Minnie and Mickey as guests, embracing everything Disney.  Five years is a big milestone. I know that people worried about how fast we decided to get engaged as we only really knew each other for three months when we decided that we wanted to become Husband and Wife, but I feel like I have always known you and I’m shocked…

What’s The Story – The Dress!

I thought I would continue the wedding theme for my What’s The Story posts as I was left some questions on the lovely comments I received and I’m enjoying looking back at the photos of our day.    This is a photo of THE DRESS.    This is the dress that had its own suitcase and travelled halfway around the world. This is the dress that was double our budget and my mum asked me to try it on as I would only get the chance to try on a designer wedding dress once. This is the dress that I spent six months trying to find another that made me feel like…

Last Swimming Lesson Of The Term

Last week was Ethan’s last swimming lesson before the summer holiday break. I am going to miss our special time at swimming but sometimes it is nice to have a break from the weekly routine. It also means that we try to go swimming with Darren during this time and he then gets to see how well Ethan is doing.  During the last lesson our normal swimming teacher was away for the week so the teacher that we used to have in the baby classes took the lesson for the day. She did things a little differently and boy did she work us hard!  We spent most of the time…
