A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2021 Week 8. This week Ethan returned to school which signifies a little bit of a return to normal for us. Little E will go back on the 8th of March when all the mainstream schools open their doors again.
Project 365 – 2021 Week 8
Day 51
It was a lovely sunny day today so we went for a walk. It felt like the whole world was out and about. We tried to walk a different route to avoid any crowds.
Day 52
Darren took the children for a walk today whilst I caught up on the ironing. They went a different way today to avoid all the busy places again. This new walk was quite long and took them into our country park.
Day 53
Clearly, I call on my puzzles when the coronavirus briefings take place. Today Boris Johnson told us the plans for lifting lockdown. I was a bit shocked at the suggestion we could be back to normal in June. Can they really end social distancing that easily?! The date I only really paid attention to was the return to school date.
Day 54
It was Darren’s last day before he went back to work after his break. He took Little E out on her bike whilst I worked. This is her new bigger bike that she got for Christmas. We want her to get more confident using it before we all go out on our bikes together again.
Day 55
I completed my puzzle today. I don’t think it was a bad news day I just wanted to complete the dark parts of the puzzle in the natural light.
Day 56
The weather reporter kept mentioning the Sahara sand headed our way. It was meant to create some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I didn’t really spot any spectacular colours this week. This was the only pink sky I spotted after we had picked Ethan up from school.
Day 57
I had quite a few work-related calls today which wore me out. We had a simple dinner to cook but I couldn’t face it. This situation called for a Pizza Hut delivery. Being able to get a pizza delivery that the whole family can enjoy is quite a new experience for us. It is only recently that both children will tuck into a pizza for dinner.
That was our 2021 Week 8 adventure. You can read about our week 7 here.
I feel the same about the June reopening up everything. It feels too fast – people will go mad, and cram indoors to all these places. I’m kind of hoping the figures don’t go the right way, or slow down too much to suggest we can all do that. I don’t want to go back to the office all in one go – I’d quite like it to go up to the summer holidays at least.
How nice to have a takeaway delivery. We live too far out, so always have to collect
Seems incredible that the restrictions can be lifted, isn’t it? After almost an year of restrictions, I was getting used to it. Walks outdoors can get quite busy, so I’ve tried the advice I saw on blogs, to walk in a churchyard/cemetery. That was so good, quiet, a few people and very far away anyway, much better than the local part. It might be a bit creepy for some though. 🙂
It looks like you’ve all had a lot of fun outside. It’s been nice to see the sun shining.
The pizza is a fab treat to end the week x
i hadn’t heard about the sahara sand but I did capture a few pretty sunsets this week. Glad the kids will eat pizza, makes it easier for you to get a bit of time off. I’m ignoring the ‘back to normal’ June 21st as there was quite a bit said inbetween the back to normal and the dates, as in IF all goes to plan
The jigsaw looks fab. It makes so much difference when it’s nice enough to enjoy being outdoors doesn’t it #365
Felt the same when I heard about June!
Loving her new bike! Am sure she will be confident in no time!
The jigsaw looks great.
I’m not convinced we’ll be back to normal in June but we’ll see. Lovely to get out for walks in the sunshine and for Little E to get out on her bike. We always try to avoid busy areas too. Hope Ethan has enjoyed being back at school. Love the Snow White puzzle. #project365
Bike riding is so important but mine still can only ride in parks as they aren’t confident enough to go on roads. Another fab jigsaw choice! #project365
I love pizza hut but sadly the don’t deliver near us, the joys of living semi-rural!! Lovely to get out for walks in the and for the little one to get out on her bike, we haven’t made anymore progress with Seb yet
I do wonder if June will actually happen. Either way I am not sure our habits will overly change choosing outside attractions away from others. I guess it depends on the vaccine. Love the jigsaw, I have been doing a picture for my eldest and like you I need daylight for the dark bits. Hope you have a smooth return to routine this week. I am not sure if we are ready!
I’m not sure about lifting the restrictions by June either. And I’m quite worried about the schools reopening tomorrow. Glad you enjoy your puzzles, I keep telling myself I should go back to puzzles, as they gave me so much pleasure. How lovely to have walks in the sunshine! We don’t have Pizza Hut in town, but I remember they have a good selection. We had Domino’s yesterday. 🙂
It looks like the kids are making the most of the sunshine and having plenty of time outside. I hope Ethan enjoyed his return to school and good luck to your youngest when she goes back tomorrow. Good move opting for a takeout, why not especially now they both enjoy pizza.
I so understand when you say it is a blessing when the whole family can have one food items.. my kids too started enjoying pizzas recently 🙂
The puzzle looks lovely. The kids are loving the outsides especially after cooping up at home for so long!!
