A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2023 Week 2. This week felt a bit challenging as Little E struggles to fit into her new school. This was her first week back after the Christmas holidays. Getting back to the routine was a bit of a shock to all of our systems. The week flew by and I found it very tiring.
Project 365 – 2023 Week 2
Day 7
We spent the morning changing our address at the banks. Some we could phone but for a few, we had to go into the branch. Ethan’s was an issue as he couldn’t answer the questions over the phone without prompting. So we had to prove he is autistic in the branch. I know at 18 we will have to sort something out for his banks but I will have to worry about that in five years. I can’t think about that now! On the way home we stopped at the new Morrisons as we were told it has a milkshake and a waffle pop bar. I got a Lion Bar milkshake. Yes, they use chocolate bars to create the milkshakes!
Day 8
For the past six months, I have been trying to do a girly day with Little E each month. We got a bit sidetracked with our move but finally went to see Matilda today which was her November request.
Day 9
A busy work day for me today. Darren made us a roast for dinner. We cook the chicken in the slow cooker. We try to have this dinner once a week so that Darren can have the leftover chicken for his sandwiches.
Day 10
A Mcdonald’s dinner for tonight as we went swimming together. Little E has joined young carers and they hired the leisure pool for a family swim.
Day 11
I’m trying to show Little E that reading is good by reading more myself. I have joined the Good Reads challenge this year and I finished my second book today. We watched this series so I thought I would read the book that inspired it.
Day 12
It’s my brother’s birthday at the weekend so we posted his card today. We had everything crossed that it would arrive on time.
Day 13
I have worked from home since Ethan was three years old. I finally have a desk to work from. I’m very excited about my desk. And it come in handy this week as work was very busy.
That was our 2023 Week 2 adventure. You can read about week 1 here.
So sorry the week has been challenging, I hope things are better soon.
I hope you enjoyed Matilda, my youngest and I loved it.
Good luck with your reading. x
I bet a desk at home is a lovely addition. Such a pain about the change of address, we thankfully had an excellent social work team when our daughter turned 18 and was able to provide evidence of her disabilities so we didn’t have to keep reapplying for things such as blue badge. She now has a financial advocate which has been brilliant for her.
Lion Bar milkshake sounds lovely. We used to have a milkshake place near us that did milkshakes from chocolate bars but it never reopened after Covid. How lovely to finally have a desk. I hope Little E settles in to her new school soon. #project365
I read The Handmaid’s Tale many years ago but haven’t got around to watching the series yet. Love the postbox topper in your pic. #project365
We had to make a trip to the bank too as Eliza and her friend decided to swap face IDs on their phone for a laugh and it bumped Eliza off her banking app. Of course we couldnt do it over the phone!! The milkshake and waffle bar sounds great
