What’s The Story – Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Cake

When planning our wedding I knew that having a wedding cake was very important to me, but because there were just a small group of us I worried about the size of the cake. I didn’t like the idea of waste but I knew the cake I wanted I had only seen before as a three tier cake.    I wanted the Mickey Wave cake with the castle on the top. Not any old castle, this was a white chocolate Cinderella castle!   So I asked our wedding planner, could this be done? She spoke to the bakery and they agreed to create the two tier Mickey wave cake. I…

    Happy Anniversary, Six Years Today

Today is our six year anniversary. This is the first time in six years that we actually have the day off together thanks to Darren’s paternity leave. We already went out for a child free lunch together on Monday but we haven’t made any plans for today. At 7.30pm we will light our unity candle to mark the day. Our ceremony started at 2.30pm Florida time so we light it at the correct time in England as Florida is five hours behind. We will also try to watch our wedding video with Ethan, something we have shared with him for the past few years. This will probably end with me…

    The Prompt – Vacation

Sara at Mum Turned Mom started a new linky where she will give you a prompt every week and you can link up a post inspired by her prompt. Every week I have wanted to take part but this pregnancy is really taking its toll on my blogging and my blogging time is interrupted by the need to sleep! This week her prompt is the following… This means I can write about Walt Disney World, we all know how much I love my happy place! So whilst I’m sitting here, not half asleep for the first time in months, I’m determined to join in.    After I was able to make my…

    What’s The Story – Cinderella’s Slipper

I love taking part in the What’s the Story linky over at PODcast especially as it’s given me the chance to look back at our wedding day and remember all of the little details.  Details that we spent ages discussing, details that we wanted to include because we wanted to include the magic of Disney into our day. Disney’s attention to detail is amazing and it’s the small details that make the Disney experience even more magical.   This is why we included the glass slipper sorbet option into our meal.  Where else but Walt Disney World can your sorbet course be delivered to you in an ice glass slipper,…

What’s The Story – Our EPCOT Dessert Party

In 2002, seven years before our wedding, and even before meeting Darren, I discovered that you can hold Dessert Parties in EPCOT during IllumiNations.   IllumiNations is a firework show that they hold every night in the EPCOT park. A dessert party is where you can hire an area which you then set out with tables and you can eat desserts. Fireworks and desserts, what a way to end a wedding day!     When planning our wedding day we were limited to which area we could hire because of our small group. Our only available option was an area in the Morocco Pavilion. I would have loved to have…
