What’s The Story – Our First Dance

This is a photo of our first dance, it was the only dancing that happened at our wedding as our day ended with a fantastic event, which I will share with you in the future.    I wanted to include the tradition of a first dance but it took a while how to work out how this would happen as we weren’t going to hire a DJ and I didn’t want to just hook up an iPod. We knew that we needed some sort of background music for our meal so we decided to hire the pianist, and at the suggestion of our wedding planner, the violinist for our pre-reception.…

What’s The Story – Our Guest Book

When I was planning our wedding I spent hours on the internet looking for information that would help plan our day. I joined forums so that I could ask any questions that I had and hopefully get answers. One day I remember a former bride telling us that is we have Mickey and Minnie Mouse as guests at our wedding that we should ask them to sign our guest book.    When it was time for our wedding planner to be assigned one of my requests was the signing of our guest book, and with that I never mentioned it again. Partly because it wasn’t one of the most important…

Walt Disney World – Day 7 – Magic Kingdom

After having some lovely family time at the pool and also grabbing some lunch there we got ready to head back to the Magic Kingdom. Our plan was to explore another area and catch the Main Street Electrical Parade as it was on that night.  The first thing we did was stop at the entrance of the park to get a photopass photo as we hadn’t stopped there yet.  We decided that we would stop at guest services so that they could give Ethan’s buggy a sticker which would allow it to be classified as a wheelchair. This would mean that he could stay in the buggy to watch the…

What’s The Story – The Beach

This photo was taken in-front of Disney’s Wedding Pavilion after our ceremony. This was a very popular location with the Disney Brides, and I was so pleased that we we able to have a photo taken here. The beach is man made, but I love the way that even though the Wedding Pavilion is in a location that, hundreds, if not thousands of people pass everyday on their way to the Magic Kingdom, it feels so private.    Unfortunately we discovered this is no longer the case when we visited in 2012. The Grand Floridian hotel has been extended and this beach no longer exists. This is the photo we…

What’s The Story – Major Domo

As our wedding party was small Darren didn’t have a Best Man, so therefore we had no one to keep the wedding rings safe for us. We thought of different ways to get round this but decided that we would include Disney’s Major Domo into our ceremony.    We didn’t tell anyone about including him, and I’m not sure if anyone asked us who would be looking after the rings, but somehow we got away with surprising our guests and playing a bit of a nasty trick on our bridesmaids.   When it was time to exchange our rings our Reverend turned to our bridesmaids and asked them for the…
