We were sent the Little Tikes RC FLYERZ My First Drone to test and review. Being that I’m not the most co-orientated person when it comes to flying toys I did wonder if I could make the drone fly without crashing it. I have always thought that drones would be complicated so I was interested to discover if Little Tikes could make drone flying easy for children to enjoy.
The Little Tikes RC FLYERZ My First Drone
The Little Tikes drone is the only drone designed for preschoolers. The drone comes with an ergonomic remote control specifically designed for little hands. It can fly, turn, and land with the simple one-touch control remote control. The drone is built with auto-hover technology that keeps the drone suspended in midair for easy flying. It also has protective propellers and an emergency shut-off button for added safety. The drone also has LED lights and makes fun sounds when it flies.
Please Note: The Little Tikes Drone requires 6 AA batteries that not included. The Little Tikes Drone is recommended for children aged 4 years and over. It is for domestic use only and must be used with direct adult supervision.
Unboxing The Little Tikes My First Drone
Little E was very excited about opening the Little Tikes My First Drone. We discovered that after opening the drone and adding the batteries it wasn’t ready to fly. You have to charge up the drone via the remote control. This is easily done by using the attached cable and plugging it into the base of the drone.
After thirty minutes of charging the drone was ready to fly. The drone has LED lights and makes flying sounds which added to the excitement. Our video below shows us unboxing the Little Tikes Drone and some flying action.
Our Verdict Of The Little Tikes My First Drone
The children loved flying the Little Tikes Drone. After we showed them how to use the remote control they could easily manoeuvre it themselves. The drone flew quite high when the up button was pressed and it also turned left and right depending on which button the children decided to press.
We loved that there is an emergency stop button on the remote control. When pressed all motion of the drone stops and it will drop to the floor. We actually did have to use this when the drone got to close to Little E’s hair, it stopped the drone getting tangled up.
The Little Tikes Drone does feel quite fragile but I think that is how it needs to be designed for children. When flying the drone the children did crash it into the walls and doors and it withheld those bumps and bangs without any issues. The propellers are also designed perfectly to avoid any accidents. The propellers are set in a flexible circle to avoid them being able to hurt you when in flight. On one full charge we found that the drone would fly for 15 to 20 minutes before needing to be charged again.
We had lots of fun with the Little Tikes Drone and we found it a very good introduction into the world of drones and drone flying. The Little Tikes My First Drone has a recommended retail price of £34.99.
Wow this looks brilliant – especially for that price. My nearly-3 year old would love it. Though I think my husband would love it more! Thanks for the info.
Oh wow this looks amazing. My daughter would love it. And it was cheaper than I thought it would be too. One to add to the list of birthday pressies!
That is pretty cool! My 6 year old nephew would be a big fan! x
My daughter got this for Christmas from her grandparents and she loves it. I agree I thought it was quite fragile, but it’s still going strong!
We have this and it is great fun, I think my 6 year old daughter is better at flying it than me though. We have crashed it lots and it has held up well.
Oh wow this looks awesome! And great way for little ones to try out a drone safety! Ill have to check this out as my nephew turns four soon!
How cool is this! My teen son had a drone and would understandably not let the little ones play with it so they would love to have their own one and this would be perfect! x
