We were asked if we would like to review a Valentine’s Letterbox Gift Cake from Baker Days.

Ethan loves cake, it’s the one thing we are guaranteed he will eat without a fight so how could we say no?!

We were asked to choose which cake we would like and it would arrive by post. I must admit I was very curious how this would work? How will a cake arrive in the post and not be damaged? How will it taste? Would it still be fresh?

On Friday all my questions were answered as our package arrived.

Ethan was very eager to open the package so I had a bit of a fight to take the photos.

I was pleasantly surprised that our cake arrived in a cake tin. This answered all my questions on how safe will the cake be during travel, and how will it stay fresh.

Inside the tin, the cake was also sealed with very clear instructions on how to remove the cake safely.

The cake was also bigger than I expected and you could easily share the cake with at least four people. Our cake actually lasted for two days, with quite a few servings.

The Taste Test

Our cake was a chocolate sponge cake.

It was lovely. The cake was nice and soft and very moist. It tasted just as good as the cakes my mum makes and that is amazing. It didn’t taste too sweet and so much better than any shop brought birthday cakes I have ever purchased.

I think Ethan’s face sums it up quite nicely.
