Thinking Slimmer 12 Week Challenge – Week 1 Update

This time last week I started my Thinking Slimmer 12 week challenge. Every night I have listened to my slimpod to retrain my thinking and keep me focused on my goals.

The three goals I have set for myself are

1) Feel fitter and be able to run around with my children with ease

2) Drink less tea and more water

3) Drop a dress size

This is what I have been up to over the past week

Wii Fit and EA Active

I have used the Wii Fit everyday and completed the stepping, hula hoop and short distance running activity. I want to slowly increase my activities each week so this week I will be doing both the stepping and hula hoop activities twice, plus the running.

I have also started the 30 day EA Active challenge and have completed the six workouts that it has requested me to do.

Tea Drinking

Over the past week I have managed to reduce my tea drinking. I am now only having four cups of tea a day which is a very big reduction. I also don’t feel like I’m craving cups of tea like I would have done.


I haven’t touched any of Ethan’s chocolate bars this week. I also refused to buy any chocolate for Darren in the weekly shop so it has been a week without chocolate. I’m also not craving it which is great as it normally really want some when I see it in the fridge.

Cereal Before Bed

This is a habit that I’m yet to break. It’s been a habit for many years so I wasn’t expecting this to change overnight. We have actually changed our cereal of choice and said goodbye to the Frosties, we are now having Rice Krispies.

Weight-loss vs Measurements

With Thinking Slimmer the weight-loss isn’t the important factor, it’s all about the inch loss. Officially I’m meant to be taking my measurements again on day 20 but I thought I would keep a weekly update.

Todays BMI – 30.86

Week 1 weight-loss – 1 lb

Chest Measurement – 4.5 cm lost

Waist Measurement – 5.2 cm lost

Bicep Measurement – 2 cm lost

Hip Measurement – 7.5 cm lost

Thigh Measurement – 1.2 cm lost

I wasn’t expecting a big weight-loss as I had seen my weight go up and down on the wii everyday, but I’m very glad to report a loss. I’m very surprised at this weeks measurements, going in the right direction to drop a dress size.
