What Is The Little Tikes Shop n Learn Smart Checkout?
The Little Tikes Shop & Learn Smart Checkout is based on a self-serve checkout. Just like the checkouts, you can find at your own local supermarket. The Smart Checkout has an interactive scanner that really scans the bar-codes on the Little Tikes food. As each item is scanned the checkout recognises the item and lets you know what it is. The checkout also has a fully working conveyor belt. You can place your items on the belt and they will make their way to your shopping bag or shopping cart. The Little Tikes Shop ‘n Learn Smart Cart is available to buy separately but the checkout comes with its own shopping bag. The Shop ‘n Learn Smart Cart is compatible with the Shop & Learn Smart Checkout.
As well as a full working scanner and conveyor belt the checkout also has a working cash register. Not forgetting the very important aisle light! The cash register recognises the Little Tikes bank notes and coins used. There is also a credit card available for another means of payment.
The Shop & Learn Smart Checkout has interactive learning embedded in it. There is also a free downloadable app that is designed to add deeper gameplay. This means children will have fun whilst learning.
The Little Tikes Shop n Learn Smart Checkout can also be folded to make the checkout compact to save space.

What Do The Children Love About This Little Tikes Toy?
The children love that the checkout can recognise the items that they scan. It has given them hours of fun. Ethan has loved the action of scanning and placing the items on the conveyor belt. The toy has held his attention for longer than I ever expected. The cash register is also a hit with them. It counts the money as you feed it in. The credit card and keypad also makes fun sounds as you use them.
We didn’t introduce the app to them until a week or so after they had been playing with the Smart Checkout. It really did add a further dimension to their play. They both love playing with the checkout and play together. In our home, this is a rare sight. It really had been perfect for both of their abilities.
What Do We Love About This Little Tikes Toy?
I really wasn’t expecting the hours of play that both of our children have had with this toy. They have introduced it to a friend too. All three children happily played together for hours. I am so impressed with how interactive this toy is. Every item supplied with the toy can be scanned and is registered by the checkout.
The app really does open up the play available. I love the fact that you don’t need the app at all to play. Adding it can just add to and extend your child’s enjoyment. I also think this adds longevity to the toy. If you buy the toy for a young child you might not want to use a tablet. As they grow you can introduce it giving them different ways to play with the Smart Checkout.
The Kids Do The Weekly Shop Challenge with Little Tikes
Little Tikes challenged us to see if our children could take the skills they learned from playing with the Shop n Learn Smart Checkout into our local supermarket. Our little lady was looking forward to taking part in the challenge. Little Tikes also sent her a shopping cart so that she had everything she needed to go shopping.
