I always knew that having two children would be my biggest challenge yet, but I wasn’t quite prepared for how much military precision would be needed just to get out for the nursery run!
At the moment I’m very lucky as I don’t have to do the nursery run every morning. This is because Ethan’s nursery is quite a distance from our house, that’s a whole over blog post in itself. Unfortunately that means my parents do the nursery run for me but there are times that I go with them for appointments etc. This means I have to get myself and both children ready, including everything we need for the day, in less than an hour!
Now I can hear other mothers screaming an hour, that’s plenty of time, but it’s a whole new world for me.
In my previous life I would make sure I had thirty minutes to enjoy my tea and breakfast whilst catching up on what was going on in the world. I then gave myself an hour to get ready, and that was just to go to work. For an evening out I would give myself two hours getting ready time. I did like to spoil myself!
Why not get up earlier? Ethan is a terrible sleeper, it’s all part of the territory. By the mornings he is in bed with me and any attempts by me to get out of bed results in him being wide awake. For Ethan to have a good day I need him to get as much sleep as possible even if it means I’m wide awake unable to move for a hour or so before the alarm goes off.
For me a #MorningWin is getting us all out of the house and packed into the car ready for the nursery commute.

It is such a jugging act and I think mums deserve a medal as well as a biscuit. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part
