It’s the start of the new year and a time when most of us decide to make New Year resolutions. A common resolution normally involves wanting to lose weight. Personally my aim is to get fitter and be healthier so that it’s easier to keep up with my very active children. I’m therefore hoping that this in-turn will mean I lose some weight too. With the New Year resolutions decided, new year thoughts normally turn to deciding on the annual holiday destination. Our dream is to return to Walt Disney World as a family of four. The problem is, if we can make our dream holiday a reality we will break our New Years Resolution.
How will a family holiday help us break our New Year Resolutions?
To us a holiday to Walt Disney World isn’t just about the theme parks, the rides or the characters. It’s also about the dining experiences. This means food and lots of it if you have the dining plan added to your stay.
There is an unwritten rule in Walt Disney World, you must start your day with Mikey Waffles. Well it’s more my rule but there is no place better to do this than with Mickey Mouse himself. This means a character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s is a must.
One of our favorite places to eat in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Yak and Yeti. We are creatures of habit so our meal will always start with pork pot stickers. I will then have the sweet and sour chicken and Darren will end up having something with steak and shrimp.
Being on the dining plan also means a dessert with your table service meal. Darren found his favorite dessert on the children’s menu in the Polynrsian’s Resort Kona Cafe.
A dessert that’s not to be missed is the chocolate wave which can be found in EPCOT’s Coral Reef restaurant. Breaking through the chocolate sponge leads you to a delicious filling.
Of course if the choice of restaurant becomes too much during a stay at Walt Disney World there is always the safety of the UK pavilion at EPCOT. The Rose and Crown offers classic British dishes including bangers and mash.
As you can see a dream holiday to Walt Disney World will easily help us break our new year resolutions. How can you worry what you eat with so many amazing foods to try.
