This week my word of the week has to be toys as I visited the Toy Fair in London on Tuesday.
I had never been to the toy fair before. A few months ago I registered for the press day. I never thought that I would be accepted as media but I was! As we had been asked to review so many toys lately I thought I might get the chance to meet the people we have worked with in person.
At the Toy Fair to visit the big names in the industry you have to make appointments. Thankfully another blogger I know was arranging meetings for a group of us.
I was also able to arrange an appointment with Sylvanian Families. I was very excited about this as this was my
A meeting I was also very excited about was with Playmobil. They had seen my review of their Santa’s Workshop Advent Calendar and asked if I would like to meet with them.
It was a very busy day and I was on the go from 10 am until 6 pm. It took me over four hours to commute there and back. I collected lots of information. Which was very heavy by the end of the day. Well by the middle of the day! I’m all toyed out now and I’m still processing the information. I did film some of the toys I saw which you will be able to see in my weekly vlog on Sunday.
Darren, who hates train journeys, asked me if the commute and long day was worth it. I told him I will let him know in six months time.
Oh what a fun way to spend a work day! I hope it does pay off for you 🙂 #WotW
how lovely, that sounds like lots of fun. well apart from the commute, I’m not a fan of long train journeys myself. Thanks for linking up to #wotw
The toy fair sounds great, I met a lot of the brands we’ve worked with over the years at Blog On it’s a really good event if you like reviewing toys. Have a lovely weekend x #WotW
Oh wow! How exciting to visit the Toy Fair. I have read all about it and is sounds amazing! It sounds like you had a fab time!
A toy fair sounds like a fun day out, but I can imagine it would be truly tiring too. Lovely to meet the people behind the toys. I’m now pondering about the questions I would have asked! #wotw
well done on getting some appointments with the biggies and hope it pays off for you in the long run. Eldest grandson loves Playmobil . #wotw
Wow! that sounds like a very long but very productive day 🙂
I bet that was so fab, I dont review toys having older children but I bet when you have smaller children its so exciting seeing what’s new and coming out for the year ahead. I hope the trip was worthwhile although I bet it will have been x
