With my search for non-chocolate advent calendars continuing this year, Melissa & Doug sent me their Countdown to Christmas Wooden Advent Calendar to review. This really is a lovely advent calendar for all ages. As this is a wooden advent calendar you can use it every year.

The Melissa and Doug wooden advent calendar is in a Christmas tree shape and it is also magnetic. There are 24 magnetic Christmas baubles and a star to place on the top of the tree on Christmas day. Store all of these items neatly in the attached box at the base of the tree.

Being a wooden advent calendar you will be able to use this calendar every year to countdown to Christmas. Making it an annual Christmas tradition for your family. This advent calendar has an RRP of £14.99.

Using The Melissa & Doug Countdown to Christmas Wooden Advent Calendar

Children can pick their favourite bauble design to place on the tree each day. The numbered outlines are there to help fill up the tree during the 24 day Christmas countdown. They can also rearrange the magnetic baubles numerous times.

Being a Melissa and Doug product thought has also gone into how this advent calendar can help your child’s development. For example, the numbers on the tree can help with number recognition. They could also use the tree to learn to count both forwards and backward.

I love this advent calendar and so does Little E. There is so much detail on the decorations. They also use paint with glitter to make it feel even more festive. Little E loves putting the baubles in place on this advent calendar. We love that we will be able to use this wooden advent calendar year after year. A great new Christmas tradition for us.
