As a special Mothers Day treat Red Letter Days sent both my mum and me on a special day out in London. This included an afternoon tea at the Waterloo Sky Bar and a trip on The London Eye.
Just like our trip to Wivenhoe House we were sent a Red Letter Days Voucher. I used this to book the afternoon tea at the H10 London Waterloo Hotel and our trip on the London Eye.
The H10 London Waterloo Hotel has an excellent location near the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye. It offers amazing views of the London skyline from the Waterloo Sky Bar.
Afternoon Tea At The Waterloo Sky Bar
The Waterloo Sky Bar is a lovely modern bar located on the eighth floor of the H10 hotel.
It offers both seatings inside and outside on the terrace. You are able to see the views of the London skyline from both of these seating positions.
The Waterloo Sky Bar Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea menu included sweet treats…
…apple and pear tarts…
…a variety of sandwiches…
…and fresh scones with cream and jam.
Our Waterloo Sky Bar Afternoon Tea Experience
When we arrived at the Waterloo Sky Bar we were the only ones there. We had booked our table for 1 pm and they start the afternoon tea sittings from 12 pm. They had reserved an inside table as it was an extremely windy day in London.
On arrival, we had to produce our Red Letter Days voucher to confirm our booking. The staff gave us time to settle at our table. It was a long journey to London due to train works. It wasn’t long before we were ordering our afternoon tea.
We were offered unlimited tea and coffee as well as more food items if desired. The afternoon tea included a lovely selection of food. It was different from any afternoon tea that I have had before and it was delicious. The apple and pear tarts were nice and sweet without being overpowering. A great selection of sweet and savory options. We had more than enough food we didn’t need to order any more.
It was very relaxing in the Waterloo Sky Bar. The views of London were amazing too. We were never rushed and felt like we could stay there as long as we wanted to. On a non-windy summer’s day sitting on the terrace would make a great addition to the afternoon tea experience.
