Living in a small house it is difficult to find the space to entertain our family and friends. With the lovely summer that we are having we have been discussing the possibility of creating an outdoor entertaining space. This would give us the extra space we crave to be more social.
In our spare time we have started visiting our local garden centres and discussing the many available possibilities. We have started to create a wish list that one-day we will hopefully be able to fulfil.
Our dream outdoor entertaining space would include
A Comfy Place To Sit
I always wondered why you would want a sofa in your garden but I admit the thought of having one in our garden has grown on me. You should be able to relax in your garden and I’m sure comfy cushions are so much better than a wooden bench. It must be lovely to relax on a sofa in your garden on these hot evenings we are having.
A Parasol To Shade Us From The Sun
Parasols are a must when it comes to thinking about garden furniture. Our garden is a bit of a sun-trap in the summer months so we need to think about our options for shade. I have always liked the cantilever overhanging parasols. I think they offer the flexibility of arranging your garden furniture under them without causing any restrictions.
As well as purchasing the parasol I think the base weights would be a good investment too. They create a sturdy weighted base for the parasol to keep if from blowing over in the wind.
Adding Some Colour For Our Sensory Seeker
The last time we did anything to our garden we added a sensory garden for Ethan to enjoy. Over the years this area has been replaced with flowerpots for Little E. The flowerpots also hold colourful windmills for Ethan.
To make our outdoor entertaining space interesting for Ethan we would like to include a few of the light up LED cube seats. These would really hold Ethan’s attention.
To give our outdoor entertaining space even more light we would add some extra mood lighting. These would also entertain Ethan and make the space welcoming for him.
Adding Some Family Fun
As our garden is a family garden I would love to buy the children their very own tepee. This would give them their own place to retreat when they have had enough of the parents.
The possibility of updating our garden is endless. I love that it is still a blank canvas to experiment with. I’m hoping we can work towards making our dream of creating an outdoor entertaining space a reality.
