It’s nearly the middle of June and I’m finally getting the chance to write a siblings update for the month of May! To say May was a busy one would be an understatement!
In May Ethan celebrated his ninth birthday. It is so weird to think that next year our son will reach double digits. This year Ethan didn’t celebrate with a Birthday party as the weekend before his birthday we were celebrating my great nephews second birthday. He shares his birthday with Ethan. And the weekend after it was Little E’s big show. Ethan didn’t miss out as we booked tickets to the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show for his birthday treat.
May was a big month for Little E. She took part in her very first Ballet Show in a theatre. It was a new experience for all of us a family. It also pushed me very much out of my comfort zone. I was so nervous for her but she took part and enjoyed it.
For our siblings, May was really dominated by our trip to Disneyland Paris. We visited over the half term holiday and we had a great time. The children were really excited about our upcoming trip and talked about it quite a lot in the weeks before. This was a new thing for us and it was so nice to see both children become excited about our upcoming visit.
This trip to Disneyland Paris was probably one of the first Disney trips that Little E will be able to remember. She walked for miles, stayed up really late to watch the fireworks and loved every minute.
We discovered that Ethan isn’t a fan of rides that go upside down. He loved watching the fast cars but we did have a few meltdowns due to waiting times.
I was worried that Ethan’s struggles would tarnish the trip for the children in some way. Thankfully they are the moments that they didn’t remember.
