When I booked our Disney Magic at Sea Seacation I asked Little E if she would like a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment. To be honest I didn’t think she would want one. But she was very keen to experience the princess make-over again. Covid restrictions meant that all of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques had been closed. But they were opening again for the Disney Magic sailings. Appointments were like gold dust as they had to restrict numbers in the boutique. Thankfully being a Silver Castaway Club member we got access to the bookings a little bit earlier than first-time cruisers. I was able to book Little E an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This is her experience of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique after covid closures.
Little E’s Experience of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique After Covid Closures
This was going to be Little E’s fourth Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. She had two experiences during our visit to Walt Disney World in 2017. Her first on the Disney Dream was when we took her own dress. Her second in Cinderella’s Castle where we opted for the t-shirt and tutu option and her most recent experience was on the Disney Magic. She wanted to be Elsa and had a Frozen Makeover.
There was much discussion over which package Little E would choose this time. I was hoping for the Deluxe Carriage package for $99.95. This would give Little E the makeover and the t-shirt. She had outgrown her old Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique t-shirt and I wanted her to have a new one. She did mention that she would like a Merida or Moana dress which would mean the Castle package option for $199.95.
They didn’t have any Merida or Moana options but we did spot a Spirit Jersey. The Spirit Jersey was a pink Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique version. I have a few Spirit Jersey’s but I have never seen one in Little E’s size. So we settled on the Deluxe Carriage package and also buying her a Spirit Jersey.
Changes to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experience After Covid
There were a few changes to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique princess make-over experience to make it Covid safe.
Socially Distanced Appointments
There are four make-up chairs in the Disney Magic’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Two chairs on either side of the make-up mirrors. Only two children could have their appointments at one time. They were only to bring one adult to the appointment with them. The appointment times were also staggered so each child was in a different stage of the experience at any one time. This is why the appointments were like gold dust.
Facemasks
Facemasks have to be worn throughout the whole appointment. Meaning that the normal make-up and gems aren’t applied during the appointment. You are however given the make-up and gem-sets to take home. With full explanations of which princess they are being gifted from.
Applied Make-up
No make-up is applied to the face during the appointment but they still paint your nails. The Pixie dusting experience also still takes place.
Little E’s Deluxe Carriage Package Experience
There were some new hairstyles to choose from this time. I don’t know if this was a Covid change or just a package revamp. The t-shirts, bags and sashes look like they have had a bit of a revamp so I put it down to that. There was still the normal princess bun and mini crown. This is created from the child’s natural hair. But now they have messy bun styles that include a hairpiece to create the messy bun look. This option comes with a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique bow or a flower garland. The bow comes in quite a few different colour options. There is also the option of having the flower garland with a ponytail and different colour hair extensions.
Little E picked the bun with the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique bow. I was quite happy with her choice as I think the bow is a nice keepsake. It is very much like a JoJo Siwa Bow. Little E didn’t realise she had an extra hairpiece on her hair until we took her hair out a few days later. Yes her hair lasted in place for three days, a record for our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers.
Three Fairy Godmothers in Training
Another noticeable change to this Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment was that Little E was attended to by three different fairy godmothers in training. Her first fairy godmother in training welcomed her to the boutique and settled her in for her appointment. Getting her ready for her hair to be done.
Her second fairy godmother in training styled Little E’s hair. Pulling it up into the bun and putting on the hairpiece.
Her third and final fairy godmother in training gave Little E all of her accessories. Placing the bow in her hair and painting her nails. Telling her the stories about her make-up and gem gifts. She was the fairy godmother in training that also did the big reveal.

Was The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experiene Just As Good With Covid Restrictions In Place?
I can honestly say I didn’t notice any real difference in Little E’s experience at this appointment. But we have been to the appointments before where she has refused for the make-up to be put on her. She has even refused the pixie dust and I was the one that was walking around the Magic Kingdom with a gem on my face. For us, this was one of the best Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experiences for her. Perhaps being seven is the perfect age for a princess makeover!
The interactions from all of the Fairy Godmothers in Training was amazing. They all added their own magic to the experience and Little E was thoroughly spoilt by them all.
I’m so glad I was able to book the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for Little E. I have no idea if this will be her last princess makeover appointment but we weren’t disappointed at all. Disney Magic at is best.
