On Saturday we got up bright and early to head into London. We had an invite to the Andy and the Band premiere something, that I thought Ethan would love.
What is Andy and the Band?
Andy and the Band is a new show about Andy and the Odd Socks. A band fronted by the CBeebies superstar Andy Day! Including Andy, the show also introduces you to Rio from Planet Rock on guitar, mega Moxy on the drums, cool Blu on his bass and crazy Cousin Mac on the keys.
This new series follows the mischievous adventures of Andy and the Band as they make their way around the UK. They tackle weird and wonderful Odd Jobs sent to them by fans-in-need. Anything from helping a fan achieve a life goal, find a lost object or solving a mystery. The band is on hand to help!
The show also showcases the energetic songs from the band. They hold messages of acceptance and encouragement for all, young and old.
All 15 episodes are available to watch now exclusively on BBC iPlayer.
Our Visit to the Andy and the Band Premiere
Our trip into London to see Andy and the Band had to start early as it was going to be broadcast live on CBBC at 10.30 am. It was taking place in London’s Royal Institution, not far from Bond Street.
We arrived a little later than I would have liked but we did have to battle a terrible downpour of rain on our way. Arriving at London’s Royal Institution everything was ready to celebrate the Andy and the Band Premiere.
Ethan had been mentioning Andy since we received the invite to attend the premiere two weeks before. The children were handed a lanyard to wear when we arrived it had a photo of Andy and the Odd Socks on it. Ethan proudly wore this all day, something he wouldn’t normally do. He also continuously drew the Andy and the Band logo when we got home on Saturday evening.
It wasn’t long before we were seated in the London’s Royal Institution auditorium. It was here that we got to see Andy and the Odd Socks perform. As the performance was going live on CBBC Andy and the band had two rehearsals. This also gave us the chance to practice our own cheering and dancing.
Both Ethan and Little E loved the music and I must admit I’m still singing one of the songs in my head daily! After the live performance on CBBC we were treated to a few more songs from the band before watching two episodes of Andy and the Band.
It was soon time to say goodbye but not before the children had their photo taken with Andy and the Odd Socks.
We all had such a great time. It was so nice to be invited to this event. It was perfect for both Ethan and Little E. I’m sure Ethan will be watching the show on nanny’s TV when he gets the chance.
DISCLOSURE – We received tickets to the Andy and the Band Premiere as a gift. This was for the purposes of this post. We always share our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, and experiences.
