A BRAUN thermometer has had a very important role in our house ever since Ethan had his bout of tonsillitis. We purchased one knowing that we could trust it’s readings and it is very simple to use on a toddler. Our thermometer is always on hand. When we were asked by BRAUN to put there latest thermometer to the test we knew we couldn’t say no. This is our review of the BRAUN Thermometer ThermoScan 7.
BRAUN also sent us the BRAUN No Touch and Forehead Thermometer to review. The perfect thermometer for a child with sensory issues or a fear of the in-ear thermometers.

BRAUN Thermometer ThermoScan 7
This thermometer is suitable from birth and it is fast, gentle and easy to use. It is age-adjustable which means it has fever guidance for the entire family. It uses a colour-coded screen to indicate the taken temperature.
This display also lights up making it easy to read in dark rooms. It also comes with a patented pre-warmed tip and an ExacTemp guidance system to confirm the secure position.
What’s Included In The Box?
- 1 x Braun ThermoScan Ear Thermometer
- 1 x protective case with hygiene cap storage
- 21 x disposable hygiene caps
- 2 x 1.5v AA batteries
The thermometer’s arrival had perfect timing. Arriving on the day that Little E had her immunisations. I put it to the test right away.
The colour-coded display turned yellow to indicate that Little E had an elevated temperature.
Using The BRAUN Thermometer ThermoScan 7
As soon as you switch the thermometer on you easily select which age you require using the Age Precision button. There are three age ranges to choose from 0-3 months, 3-36 months and 36 months to adult.
With the age range selected a temperature can be taken by placing the probe into the ear canal and pressing the start button.
When the reading is complete a long beep will sound, the screen will show the temperature measurement.
The screen will also change colour depending on this measurement
- Green – Normal temperature
- Yellow – Elevated temperature
- Red – High temperature
The above picture shows that Little E had a normal temperature when we took this measurement.
What Do We Love About The BRAUN Thermometer ThermoScan 7?
We love this thermometer. The BRAUN range really benefits from the colour coding. We always found ourselves looking up the temperature ranges when we used our old thermometer. It is quick and simple to use. It also means no mistakes can be made when worried or through tiredness if you are up all night with your child.
The age precision feature if fantastic. We also tested this thermometer on Ethan and although I thought Ethan was feeling hot the display was green. I also checked with our old thermometer and it gave the same temperature measurement.
The protective case also has a window so that you can see how many disposable hygiene caps you have left. This wasn’t something our old thermometer had and I think it is a very handy addition.
I also like that this thermometer has an eject button for the hygiene caps, just be careful when you press it as those caps can travel quite far!
I would highly recommend this thermometer. The colour coding alone would have made me want to upgrade our current thermometer. A must-have for every family.
