In January I visited the London Toy Fair and I met with the lovely team from Playmobil. This past Christmas we worked together on some of the advent calendars. Meeting with them gave me the chance to discover what they were going to release this year. I was very excited to discover that Playmobil is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first Back to the Future movie this year. The Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean set is available to buy now. Playmobil sent us the Back to the Future set to review and needless to say I was very excited!

Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean
Travel through time experiencing fantastic adventures as Playmobil goes back to the future! Recreating the 1980s cult film trilogy this set includes Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown in their 1985 outfits. The legendary DeLorean DMC-12 is ready for time travel with a plutonium tank, flux capacitor, and dashboard time travel indicator. It is also easy to switch to flight mode as all four wheels of the DeLorean fold 90 Degrees.

The DeLorean
Just like in the Back To The Future film this DeLorean is equipped with a plutonium tank, flux capacitor, and dashboard time travel indicator.
The doors of the DeLorean open up just like the real car.
When Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown are ready to travel through time the DeLorean and flux capacitor illuminate.
When they want to travel into the future the DeLorean can quickly adapt to fly in the sky. Pressing the buttons on the base near the wheels quickly converts the DeLorean to flying mode.

What Do I Love About The Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean?
I absolutely love this Playmobil set. As always Playmobil’s attention to detail is spot on. From the flux capacitor to being able to place plutonium in the back of the car to the dates displayed on the time travel indicator. Everything that makes the DeLorean in Back To The Future amazing is captured in this set. Playmobil has even included Einstein’s stopwatch.
This set is considered for children aged 6+ but I think they would need help to assemble the DeLorean. I struggled to put the wheels together and needed Darren’s help. The stickers also require a steady hand to put in place.
I think that this set is more than just a toy. I’m sure any Back To The Future collector would appreciate it and all it’s details. This set has made me want to share the Back To The Future films with my children. Sharing their greatness with another generation.
