Word Of The Week – Anniversary

This week our word of the week has to be

anniversary

as we celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary this week.

On Monday we had booked to go to The Kensington Hotel for their Beauty and the Beast Afternoon Tea. We very rarely do anything for our anniversary so it was a nice treat. Ethan also had a respite day so the timing was perfect. My mum only had to babysit Little E whilst we were in London. It was a lovely afternoon and so nice to spend time as a couple without having to worry about someone’s needs.

Ethan had two sessions of respite this week. This summer holiday I have also had extra help for a few hours a week. This has meant that I have been able to get out of the house and take the children to soft play. It’s not my favorite place in the world but the children love it and it helps to wear them out. It also means the children aren’t stuck in the house all day with me when Darren is at work. I really hope that this year we have the mix right to help keep Ethan entertained.

We are into our second week of the school summer holidays. It hasn’t been too bad so far but Ethan is still very controlling with certain aspects of his life. The visuals I have put in place are helping a bit but there was nearly a meltdown this morning as I couldn’t find the number four. Our teeth-brushing battles have started again and at times it really can get us down. It’s not nice to see your child so distressed over something that should be so simple. I’m not sure what the next week will bring us but hopefully it will be a kind one.

  1. Happy Anniversary ! it sounds like you had a wonderful time in London what a treat. We usually end up not doing anything to celebrate either, it’s so hard when you have kids and a busy life. I can imagine it’s pretty distressing to see Ethan so frustrated and upset, it’s good that you can get a little respite and some extra help. #WotW
