With just over two and a half weeks left of our school summer holidays, I can officially say I am
I think we have done really well with trying to fill up Ethan’s time during the first few weeks of his holidays. A mixture of respite, staying over at nanny’s and help from a babysitter have helped keep us quite busy. The days I find hard are when Darren is at work. Ethan has to be kept moving and he is happy when out and about. That just isn’t possible when Darren is at work. This means he gets bored and then finds ways to irritate his sister. Games and toys don’t help to occupy him as he just isn’t interested in them.
The lack of routine also unsettles him and he therefore has to move about more. This is how he copes. Basically he could give the Duracell bunny a run for his money! His sleep, or lack of, also spirals out of control which doesn’t help us feeling drained. He really does keep us on our toes and looking after Ethan is both physically and emotionally draining.
I can also tell that Ethan is getting bored. He keeps asking me about Legoland and the Legoland hotel. He even tells me what room he wants to stay in. We are having the same conversation every few minutes. If only I had a money tree!
That being said I’m looking forward to the last few weeks of the summer holidays. Darren has time booked off of work and we are going to be able to get Ethan out and about each day. We will be staying local as we are still waiting for our car to be fixed. Hopefully Ethan won’t feel so bored and will enjoy his last two weeks of the school holidays.
Awww, I know how you feel. Mine have so much energy that I take them out for short intervals if not feeling up to long periods of time away X #wotw
I can imagine how exhausting it must be for you, I hope the last couple of weeks with your husband being off work can give you a little respite x #WotW
Oh dear…It does sound very draining….
My girls have started to complain of being bored over the last few days. My fella has this week at work then he’s off for 2 weeks so we’re planning to get out and about too….Phew x
Glad you have some time when Darren is off to look forward to. I can imagine it must be draining, especially if you can’t get out and about. Hope this week has been less draining for you. #WotW
