Author Angela Robb has released her first children’s novel Hamster Gangster. A story of one hamster in a world of rodent gangsters. We have two copies of the book to give away.

Hamster Gangster is a book for children aged 8+. A funny, action-packed story about Rocco the pet hamster. He is no ordinary pet hamster. Being tired of being kicked around in a plastic ball he goes in search of his true destiny. Rocco wants to become a great leader amoung rodents.

Through a mind-boggling mix of debatable genius and happy accident, Rocco mounts a daring escape. He heads for the Big City. It is there he joins a fearsome gang of restaurant-raiding sewer rats.

Will Rocco’s destiny become a reality. Will he be able to lead his fellow rodents into greatness? Becoming the gang’s next Big Cheese! Soon Rocco begins to realise that being a superstar action hamster isn’t quite as straightforward as he thought it would be!

“Inspired by my own childhood experience of owning a daredevil hamster, I wanted to write a story that would make children laugh and would take them on an action-packed adventure with a character they could root for – a character who is unafraid of being different and who refuses to let others make him feel small,” explains Angela. “I hope, too, that there is value and poignancy in the story’s themes of the outsider who is undeterred by others’ perceptions of him, and who learns the value of friendship and the real meaning of courage.”
