This Friday I decided that we would bake a cake for Daddy. November is quite a busy month for us so I decided to go for the simple option of a cake mix as I didn’t want to add to my already high stress levels. I thought Betty Crocker’s Chocolate Swirl cake mix sounded delicious.
I prepared the oil and the water in the bowl before calling Ethan in to pour in the eggs. We narrowly avoided Ethan trying to wash his hands in the bowls contents!
We poured in the cake mixture, and started to mix!
After pouring the cake mixture into the bowl and separating some to make the mix for the chocolate swirls Ethan had decided he had had enough of baking for the day. It was down to me to complete the task.
I mixed the chocolate mixture into the cake mixture I had put to one side.
With everything mixed well together I tipped the chocolate mixture into the cake bowl.
I then mixed the two parts together, I think I went a little overboard at this point!
I then placed the cake mixture into the oven. The cake was soon ready for Darren’s return, it didn’t have many swirls but not bad for my first attempt.
This cake looks yummy – I love packet mix cakes for kids baking – did Darren share his cake? Thanks for linking up with #FridayFun x
