This February half term we surprised the children with a trip to Disneyland Paris. It was our first time returning to Paris since taking Ethan in 2013. I was worried that our trip to Walt Disney World would take the shine off of a Disneyland Paris visit. But we fell in love with it even more. As we were waiting for Disney Illuminations Little E asked me for a photo in front of the pink castle.
The pink castle is actually Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. During the show Disney Illuminations they project images onto the castle. They only introduced this on Cinderella’s Castle last year in Walt Disney World. Unlike Walt Disney World you can’t book dessert parties to guarantee a good view. We opted to stand at the side of the main hub near the entrance of Discoveryland. This meant that it wasn’t as crowded with room to move about if you needed to. We didn’t get a clear view of the projections. They are meant to be better if you are facing the castle front on. This didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the show. The show also uses fireworks which the children love to watch. It is a lovely way to end your day in the park. The time the park closes dictates the time of the show. This means in the winter months the show starts at an earlier time than the summer months.
We love sharing our Disneyland Paris adventures on our blog. Make sure you visit our Disneyland Paris Trips and Experiences post to read about all of our adventures there.
