    Writing Christmas Cards

When Ethan started at nursery I must admit it was a shock when we were given a Christmas card list. I didn’t know any of the children in his class but I found myself writing out forty cards. The cards we got in return were also written out by the mum’s so I didn’t think much of it. The following year was a different story. Ethan had moved up to the next class, I wrote out his cards but the cards we got in return had been signed by the children. I say signed but what I mean is the children had marked the card in some way. They had…

    Star Of The Day!

I have seen many posts linking up to Small Steps Amazing Achievements where children have received a Star Of The Week award. I assumed this was a school thing and I secretly hoped that one day I would be able to blog about a Star Of The Week award given to our little guy. I couldn’t believe it when yesterday Ethan came home from nursery with his very own Star Of The Day award! I nearly cried because it meant so much to me. Ethan has a star award that we can put on the fridge in pride of place! Ethan was awarded his Star Of The Day award because…

The Sea Dog, A New Friend!

It has just been over two weeks since the c section and I have been getting frustrated about how ill I have been with my recovery. I had this idea in my head that because it wasn’t an emergency c section I would be back up and on my feet in a few days. This meant that we would be able to do things as a family, I would be able to enjoy time with Ethan again.    I was getting frustrated in my pregnancy with my lack of mobility and how it was stopping me do the things I wanted to with Ethan already. I was really looking forward…

Hello – It’s Still My Magic Moment!

On New Year’s eve Ethan showed us that he could say the word ‘Hello’. I couldn’t believe it but I was so pleased to blog about it for our Small Steps Amazing Achievements Linky. Since that day he has been using the word more and more, keeping everything crossed, I’m so happy to say he is using it everyday. The added bonus is he always uses it in the right context, this is something that is very important in the world of autism. When we go out, and if Ethan is in the mood, he will say hello to passers by. If we are very lucky some people say hello…

What’s The Story – Our EPCOT Dessert Party

In 2002, seven years before our wedding, and even before meeting Darren, I discovered that you can hold Dessert Parties in EPCOT during IllumiNations.   IllumiNations is a firework show that they hold every night in the EPCOT park. A dessert party is where you can hire an area which you then set out with tables and you can eat desserts. Fireworks and desserts, what a way to end a wedding day!     When planning our wedding day we were limited to which area we could hire because of our small group. Our only available option was an area in the Morocco Pavilion. I would have loved to have…
