It has just been over two weeks since the c section and I have been getting frustrated about how ill I have been with my recovery. I had this idea in my head that because it wasn’t an emergency c section I would be back up and on my feet in a few days. This meant that we would be able to do things as a family, I would be able to enjoy time with Ethan again.
I was getting frustrated in my pregnancy with my lack of mobility and how it was stopping me do the things I wanted to with Ethan already. I was really looking forward to doing things with him whilst Darren was on his paternity leave, thankfully Darren took three weeks off of work so we still have some time together.
On Saturday I was feeling the best I had felt in a while, so after dinner we headed to the beach so that Ethan could have some fun in the water.
They hadn’t been in the sea for long when two dogs appeared in front of them.
We didn’t think much of it at first, but they were standing rather close. I don’t want Ethan to be scared of animals so I try not to react to strange dogs in a fearful way, but I know you should be wary.
Their owners were close to hand and told Darren that they wanted to catch the water they kicked to them. They wanted to play, and play they did.
Darren started kicking the water to them and Ethan soon followed.
The dog was jumping so high to catch the water it had Ethan in fits of giggles. The photos below capture his enjoyment perfectly!
For some reason it didn’t even cross my mind to film this encounter which is such a shame.
I’m linking this post to Magic Moments over at The Oliver’s Madhouse as Ethan loved every minute of his sea dog encounter, and it was so much fun to see.
Oh how adorable. I would have been wary too, until the owners explained. Look like Ethan and the dogs had great fun. Hope your fully recovered soon. #magicmoments
He loved it, such an unexpected Magic Moment :0)
Sounds lovely! What a great encounter with dogs to show Ethan he doesn’t need to be scared.
I know you do have to be careful around any animals but I do hate it when people get scared around all dogs. I think that reaction can sometimes cause problems x
Such a lovely little post! Ethan looks so happy in the last couple of posts.
He thought it was fantastic, really wished I had filmed some of it!
Aww I am pleased to hear you managed to get out and that you all had such a fun time! C-section recovery can take a bit of time and I remember how frustrating that is! Hope you are feeling more like yourself soon and can have more fun days like this. Great shots of Ethan giggling! xx #magicmoments
I am really starting to feel better, but still sore. Darren took an extra weeks holiday with me this time, and I’m so glad he did as I’m getting more mobile x
Oh what a lovely moment. Try to take it easy and not to rush too much. xx
That’s all my body is letting me do, so I have decided I need to listen to it :0) x
Love this! His face says it all. Hope you’re OK. Don’t be hard on yourself. Sections are tough operations and it just does take a while to recover.
Thank you, Ethan really did have fun. Makes me think we should get a dog ;0) x
Goodness you made that 2 dogs day! They are so happy! I hope you get better soon. Really frustrating to stay at home when the sun is this bright. #magicmoments
Thank you. Yes the dogs loved the sea as much as Ethan does x

Thank you. Its funny I really thought with a planned section recovery would be so different. I keep being reminded it’s a big op and I need to recover!
