This week our word of the week is
as we got Ethan a bike for his birthday.
We wanted to get him a bike last year but he just wasn’t ready for one but on his sports day we saw that Ethan could use a trike. So when it was time to discuss what to get him for his birthday we knew we didn’t want to get any more toys that just wouldn’t be played with. We decided to take Ethan to the local bike shop to see what he made of the bikes there. He got very excited and off he went on one of the bikes, crashing into everything that was in his way!
It was lovely to see Ethan’s excitement so we decided a bike would be the main gift for his birthday. We know there will be a lot of challenges for him to overcome, mentally a bike could be a real challenge for both him and us but Ethan does like to surprise us.
So this week after school we have been going for walks with Ethan and his bike. He has loved it and it’s been lovely to get out and about in the sunny weather we have been having.
Aww! How lovely! It sounds like he has been having a lot of fun x
Bikes are brilliant! I hope he continues to enjoy it. I’m guessing you’ve been wearing running shoes to keep up. #wotw
How exciting, I think bike presents are the best! It sounds like Ethan loves his x
Ah, this does sound exciting for Ethan! A lovely gift idea. My son likes to just look at his, whereas my daughter does actually ride! She’s asking for a new bike now as she has outgrown hers, so we’ll no doubt soon be sorting that for her birthday. Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
We have been doing this as well every school run invloves me running after my son as he is so fast in his bike! #wotw
Ah that’s great Jane! Hope he continues to enjoy it xx
It’s brilliant for him – such independence and a new skill that may last a life time.#WotW
