After the countdown of last week, it was finally time for our half-term holiday this week. A week of much-needed downtime for us. A week that was full of things we had to do but at a more relaxed pace. We all needed a break from the school runs and some mornings we were able to switch the alarms off.
Our half-term holiday started at LEGOLAND Windsor. We wanted to see how the park was dressed for Halloween. They had a trick-or-treat area but it wasn’t very big. As always the children enjoyed their time there but as it was busier than normal we didn’t get on many rides with the access pass. The weather was really good for us which always helps when you plan a day out.
On Tuesday my mum looked after the children for us so that we could go on a spa day. There is one quite local to us that we always wanted to try but we have had better experiences at other saps we have visited. We did have a nice day and being able to switch off and have downtime was just what we needed. We just wouldn’t rush to go back to this spa unless of course there was a fantastic offer.
The children went to their kid’s club one day to take part in Halloween crafts. We used this day to visit town and get Darren’s flu jab. We also had some lunch out for a treat, something we don’t get to do that often. There was also some time to do some window shopping and look at some possible Christmas gifts for the children.
We also went to the cinema to watch Trolls Band Together. The cinema was full with no spare seats. I haven’t been to a cinema that packed for many years. It was lovely to see. We all enjoyed the film and the trailers gave us a few more files we want to watch over the next few months.
This week of downtown was something we did all need. It’s a shame it wasn’t for two weeks as are were things on our to-do list that we still need to complete.
