This week was such a contrast from our magical week last week. But all that Disney Magic comes at a price. I found this week exhausting.
Our weekend was quiet sorting through the piles of washing in our suitcases. The ironing pile has grown massively and we still have clothes to put away. I’m getting there slowly around life. On Sunday we decided to go on an art trail finding the decorated Octopuses in the Octopus Ahoy! trail. The Octopuses had been placed all around the Tendring District and we had spotted some during our Clacton beach hut day in August. We downloaded the app and started our search in Colchester, Brightlingsea, Jaywick, Clacton seafront and Holland-on-Sea.
On Monday after I finished work Darren took us to Dedham, Manningtree, Dovercourt and Harwich. We had fun discovering places we have never visited before and places we hope to explore in the future. On Tuesday we went to Walton-on-the Naze and Frinton-on-Sea. Finishing our octopus hunt on Wednesday in Clacton town centre.
I came home from our Disney Magic as Sea cruise to three full briefs from work. As always our jobs are time-limited and being full-on helped to make my week exhausting. Throwing in the return to school was also a shock to the system.
Little E went back to school on Thursday. She starts year three this year and is now in juniors. She was glad to return and I think this is the first time we didn’t get any back to school tears. Ethan doesn’t return to school until Monday. He really missed his little sister when she was at school and it really showed.
Although I found this week exhausting I’m glad we will be getting back into our school routine. Ethan has really missed his routine this summer. Hopefully starting year seven won’t be too hard for him and he will enjoy his new class.
It sounds after your Disney trip you’ve come back down to earth with a bump. It sounds like you’ve had a busy week but fin at the same time. I am glad the return to school for Little E went well I hope it goes just as well for Ethan today. x
Sounds like a busy week especially with work pressures. The post-holiday laundry is never a fun job! The octopus hunt sounds like fun though. Glad that the start of junior school went well for Little E and hope that Ethan settles in well back at school today. #WotW
