This week our word of the week is
Ethan has been on half term and we have had days at home and errands to run.
Ethan has found the break from school hard to adjust too. I think that he is kept so busy at school that suddenly doing nothing hits him hard. He is used to weekends as it is part of the routine but add extra days onto that and he climbs the walls.
To cope with this Ethan has been taking control of the Sky Box and it has been a battle to watch just one channel. He can now say most of the channels on the first page of the guide and keeps asking for Sky Atlantic. Sky Atlantic does not show programmes I want him to watch but as soon as our back is turned Sky Atlantic is back on the TV. Ethan has even gone off of watching the Children’s TV channels but Baby TV is sometimes a winner.
Getting us out and about has kept us all sane but the weather stopped some of our bigger planes this week. We did go to the zoo yesterday but got there early and left before lunch time as it starts to get too busy for Ethan to enjoy his time there.
We have enjoyed some Halloween activities. We carved pumpkins and the children dressed up for the trip to the zoo yesterday. I think I might look into painting pumpkins next year so that the children can get more involved.
It has been a good half term, Ethan did need some rest as he started to protest about going to school last week. There have been some hard moments but the balance of this holiday was so much better than the summer holidays. I suppose it is easier to fill one week than eight!
I can imagine that the change in routine must be quite a challenge for Ethan but sounds like you have all managed to enjoy half-term whilst keeping him occupied. Love the sound of dressing up for the trip to the zoo. Hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

The TV is turning into a bit of a battle ground. He is such a logo boy and he is learning to read this way but I just wish it was the kids TV channels x

I wish hiding the remote did the job, he knows how to control the buttons on the box!
Yes, 8 weeks is such a long time, but like you say Ethan clearly needed the rest its just physically coping with being still and resting sometimes isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed the break sometimes we just need a break don’t we, I know we all did x
