Word Of The Week – Cold

This week our word of the week is

cold

as I have been fighting a terrible cold since the middle of the half term. Thankfully my cold come on just as Darren went back to work so we enjoyed a few days out over the half term. We visited a pumpkin patch and also went to Jimmy’s Farm.

We didn’t take the children Trick or Treating on Halloween night as we don’t feel it is the best life skill to teach Ethan. Thankfully he is quite happy to welcome the other children that come to our door and hand out the sweets. We also got Little E a bargain fancy dress costume on Monday so she was dressed as a little witch which Ethan found very funny. Little E calls it a princess dress and has asked to wear it a few times this week.

So I have mostly struggled this week with my cold but I’m starting to feel a little better. Ironically I sound much worse. We don’t have too much planned for the weekend so hopefully I will finally be able to shake this cold off.

  1. Sorry to hear you have had a cold and hope you manage to shake it off over the weekend. We didn’t go trick or treating either although the girls did get to dress up. Glad Ethan enjoyed welcoming the other children at the door and that Little E loved her witch’s dress 🙂 #WotW

  2. Hope you are feeling better. I’ve never been in to Trick or Treating. The two younger ones go to a friend, who is american, where they have a party and visit the neighbours’s houses. Hope your weekend goes well. #wotw

  3. Ah I hope you are feeling loads better, and I don’t like trick or treating either. I don’t think it is something I like to encourage at all, although I do not object to them knocking at my door. I would much rather a halloween party for the kids or a cozy movie night x

  4. I hate colds, hope yours clears soon. We don’t do Halloween in our house, Sir gets very upset at the rounds of people knocking on the door and Madam doesn’t like the costumes. After years of meltdowns I just put a sign on the door now to say sorry no trick or treat. I’m glad your two enjoy giving out the sweeties though 😀
