Our Memory Jar

I have found that since I have become a mum life has become quite an emotional roller-coaster. There have been amazing highs mixed in with some very low moments. This has led to me suffering with anxiety which can also contribute to feeling overwhelmed. Christmas it a time that I can feel overwhelmed with all of the preparation. There is also the added pressure of trying to make it visual for Ethan and it can easily get on top of me. This can sometimes turn it into a chore and I miss having something to look forward too.

I mentioned to Darren that I was thinking about creating a memory jar this year. On New Years Eve we would be able to look back at all the positive moments we have had in the year. All the memories we have made no matter now small they are. He agreed that it would be a good idea, perhaps something that we can make into a new family tradition. That very day we saw my brother and his family to exchange our Christmas gifts. My niece must have read my mind as she gave us our very own memory jar.

The memory jar came with its very own pen and note paper to write down our memories and milestones. We have already been lucky enough to have one memory to add into our jar.

Memory Jar

I’m looking forward to adding more memories through the year. Our new tradition of opening the memory jar will start at the end of this year.
