The Coronavirus has put a halt to many family travel plans for this year Whether you were planning on visiting somewhere in your own country or you were going on a holiday abroad, many people have had to cancel travel plans. On top of this, it has also left an uncertainty behind travel and many families are unsure if they want to travel anytime in the near future.
There is no denying that times have changed and that travel is going to be very different in the near future, but it most definitely doesn’t mean that travelling is of the cards forever. There will be a time again, where families enjoy a regular getaway and create wonderful memories.
Coronavirus has, however, taken away from a little bit of the excitement that comes with a family holiday. Usually, families will talk about future travel plans, and the excitement builds and builds the closer they get to their trip. It is still possible to get excited about travel even if you have no plans for now.
Let’s have a look at some of the ways you can get your family excited about travel again:
Discover New Destinations Online
Many tourist destinations have started to showcase their wonderful locations via webcam. Take advantage of this and sit with the family to look at new destinations you may not have thought about before. Even though travel is pretty much off the cards, for now, this time gives us a great opportunity to discover the world in a different way. Use this time to research new places you and your family could visit after things start to ease. You could even set a project for the kids to make their own bucket list of destinations they would like to see and talk to them about why they have chosen them.
Follow Some Blogs
If you and your family feel as though you have lost your travel bug, it’s time to get it back. Yes, travel is going to be a little different for now, but there are still so many great reasons to travel. Try to remember the reasons you and your family love to travel in the first place. A great way to do this is to follow a Family Travel Blog or two. It’s a great way to have a look at destinations that other families have visited and enjoyed, with great advice and honest opinions.
Have A Staycation
The sun is finally starting to make a more regular appearance. So, why not take advantage of this? Although we can’t do the regular things we love like visit zoo’s or go to the park at the moment, it doesn’t mean you can’t create a holiday feeling at home. Set up a pool in the garden, set out a sandpit for sandcastles, put out some beach towels, and enjoy an ice cream in the sun. Pinterest has some fantastic ideas on how you can create a beach or holiday in your garden, check them out and see if you can create your own staycation to get excited about.
These are just three of the ways that you help to get your family excited about travel again. Is there anything you’re doing to plan travelling in the future? Please share your ideas in the comments below.
