Little E Saying Goodbye To Nursery

In July it was time for Little E say goodbye to nursery. A place that has been in her life for two years. A place were over the last terms she really started to find her feet and make lots of lovely friendships. It was a sad time as we had to tell her that all of her friends will be moving on to different schools but we promised she will make new friends too. I did wonder how Little E would react to having to say goodbye but she took it all in her stride. I think this was partly because we have talked about her going to big…

    Our Final Nursery Christmas Concert

Last week we were invited to Little E’s nursery Christmas concert. It wasn’t until after the concert that I realised it was the final nursery Christmas concert that we will attend. Next Christmas Little E will be at school. She has grown up so fast but we both know she is ready for school. Last year Little E was an angel and I already knew she would be an angel again this year. We wanted to prepare her for the required costume change. As Little E has always wanted my support during the nursery concerts I decided to talk to her about this a few days before the concert. I…

    The Last Day of Nursery

It seemed ironic that World Autism Awareness day was on April the 2nd when the day before Ethan reached a very big milestone in his journey. On Wednesday the 1st of April we said goodbye to his nursery. When we signed Ethan up to his nursery we didn’t know that our world included Autism. Thankfully we realised before his start date and they were fantastic when we expressed our concerns. They helped with the diagnosis process which then led them to apply for some one to one funding for him. Ethan’s most recent ‘auntie’ also worked closely with our Family Support Keyworker to learn how to work with Ethan. He…

    Making Our Easter Bonnet

At Easter Ethan’s nursery run an Easter Bonnet competition. We took part last year and Ethan needed quite a bit of help to create his bonnet. With Ethan’s enthusiasm for building the ginger bread house at Christmas, I hoped that he might enjoy the bonnet making more this year. This meant a trip to The Range to buy the supplies. This year I purchased some stickers as Ethan has been showing an interest, along with chicks and eggs. Ethan dived straight into the stickers, amazing me by being able to peel off the backing, and sticking them onto the top of the hat. I tried to get Ethan to stick…
